Tony came from a healthy family, the only reason his feet were on these god-forbidden fields was that he wanted to prove to his family and first of all, to himself, that he was capable of independence. So, one backpack, one suitcase, a plane ticket to Italy and some cash, was all he took to begin this journey, full of hopes, happiness and adventure. When he arrived in Rome, he couldn't help but wonder all the adventures of life that he had missed out on. He knew that this was what had been calling out to him in the deepest parts of his heart. But that all faded soon as the money that he had taken started to run out and he hadn't been able to find a decent job.
Tony ended up signing a one year job contract with the local farmer Paulo, who owned an enormous strawberry breeding farm near Tortona. Because of his well built body, at the age of 22, honest face, deep, dark-green eyes and good looks, Paulo didn't have to consider long to hire Tony. It had been now exactly four months since he left the only place he knew as home and went out into the world. In a way he did miss his family, but the pride inside of him kept him from missing them too much. It had been about a month since the last time he had talked to his family on the only phone booth in the whole village. He loved and cherished all of them, his father, mother and his two sister and even those stupid guard dogs who never stopped barking during the night time. But he didn't allow his thoughts to dwell on them for too long, for he still had faith and confidence that he had made the right choice.
But with every sunset on those fields, his hopes of an adventurous life also set and disappeared way beyond the horizon. It got more harder and harder for him to believe that here he would find what he and his bruised up and frozen heart came to look for...
